Think of tokens as the fuel your agent uses to help you. Each time it reads your message or writes a reply, it uses a little of your allowance. A token is a small piece of information — for text, that might be a word or part of a word.

Your plan gives you a fresh allowance every month. Images and turning speech into text use tokens too. You don’t need to count them yourself: you can see what you have left in Settings → Usage.

It depends on what you ask your agent to do. For example, “Help me write a birthday message” usually uses fewer tokens than “Read this long report and pull out the key points.” Planning a trip with research and several follow-up questions uses more, because your agent has more to read and work through.

There’s no fixed number of messages per plan: both what your agent reads and what it writes count, including earlier parts of the conversation. Start free, try a few everyday tasks, and check Settings → Usage to see how far your allowance goes for you.

Your plan allowance refreshes monthly. How quickly you use it depends on your tasks.

A simple example: You ask, “Plan five easy vegetarian dinners for two and make a shopping list.” Suppose the whole task uses 10,000 tokens, including what your agent reads and writes. With Pro’s 100 million monthly tokens, that would use 0.01% of your allowance — enough for 10,000 tasks at that same usage if you used your allowance only for those tasks.

This is an illustration, not a measured token count for that prompt. Actual usage varies with the conversation, reply length, and steps needed. You can see your own usage in Settings → Usage.

Unused monthly tokens don’t roll over. Free resets on your signup cycle; Pro and Max follow your billing period. Check Settings → Billing for your next reset date. Tokens bought in a pack don’t expire and carry over until you use them.

Any purchased tokens remain available after your monthly allowance is used. When your balance runs out, you can buy more in Settings → Usage or wait for your monthly reset to continue. Extra tokens don’t change the daily limits shown in your plan.

Yes. Pro and Max are billed monthly through Stripe, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → Billing.
